Connecting Instagram authorizes creatorDM to receive comment and message webhooks and to send DMs through Meta — not by logging into the Instagram app as you.
Before you click Connect
Complete creatorDM prerequisites. If you skip the Facebook Page or the Connected tools toggle, the OAuth window may succeed while automations stay silent.
How to connect
- Sign in at app.creatordm.com.
- Open Home (the workspace landing page).
- On the Instagram card, click Connect Instagram.
- Continue as your personal Facebook profile that admins the Page.
- On the permissions screen, click Edit settings (do not mash Continue).
- Check the Instagram professional account and the Facebook Page.
- Allow messages, comments, and content permissions listed there.
- Return to creatorDM and confirm. The card should read Active.
After it is connected
You can:
- Create automations against that
@username - Pick specific posts/Reels from the media picker
- Reply in Inbox
- Publish Ice Breakers and a Persistent Menu for that account
Free plans include one connected channel. Disconnect from the same card if you need to swap accounts.
If something is missing
- Account not in the list → Add a missing Instagram account
- Page not attached → Attach Instagram to a Facebook Page
- Connected but no DMs → DMs not sending
