Automation not triggering

The flow is live but comments or DMs do not start it. Check trigger type, media selection, keywords, and which account owns the post.

Short answer: Confirm the trigger type matches the event (post comment vs story reply vs DM), the selected post is the one they commented on (or you chose all posts), keywords contain the text they used, and the automation is bound to the same Instagram account that published the content.

Match trigger type to the event (comments vs story vs DM vs live).
If you picked a specific Reel, they must comment on that Reel.
Keywords are contains-match; empty means any.
The connected @account must be the publisher of that post.

A live automation only listens to the events you configured.

Media and account

Specific post → only that id.
All posts → new published posts on that account.
The Instagram account on the trigger must be the one that owns the content.

Keywords

Contains, case does not have to be precious, but spelling does. Add link and lnk if that is how people type.

When in doubt, test with an empty keyword list on a private test Reel, then tighten.

Questions people ask

I selected one Reel but they commented on a new one.

Either pick All posts or add a trigger for the new Reel. Specific media only listens to that media id.
