Instagram lets you DM everyone who comments.
The public comment is the handshake. The private DM is where the link, the lead magnet, or the product lives.
When someone comments on a post or Reel, Instagram can notify a connected app and let you reply in DMs. You can also post a short public reply so they know to open their inbox.
